Hearkening back to a bygone era, Classic Air in Association with Springbok Classic Air offers travelers a taste of Air Travel as it used to be. Starting with check-in you will be treated as air travelers used to be. In the 30's when air travel became popular, the air traveler was considered to be well heeled and a celebrity of the first order. It is to this standard that Classic Air operates.Classic Air currently operates one leg of the transfer route for the Zambezi Queen between Johannesburg and Victoria Falls, via Bulawayo.
On Check-In you will be greeted by the Captain & First Officer and offered a welcome glass of Champagne (The French kind of course!) and finger snacks under the wing of the Aircraft whilst the Flight Crew go about completing final pre-flight checks.
Once the plane has been fully replenished with your choice of Moet & Chandon, Chivas Regal and the like, boarding will take place. On boarding you will be offered the local daily for your entertainment, a warm towelette for your refreshment, as well as your choice of Champagne or Orange Juice to refresh you whilst we wait for Tower clearance.
On take off, our Captain will proceed to climb to 10,000 feet toward the cooler crisper air. Unlike Jetliners of today the Dak is most comfortable at 10,000 feet which allows you panoramic views of Africa as you fly over her. With windows much larger than the jetliners of today, the views offered are breathtaking.
En route our Stewardesses will offer you a complete bar service as well as a Silver and Linen Service designed to tease the taste buds.
Dependant on air traffic at the time, a low flyby over Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, will be attempted. Shortly after this we will touch down at our destination.
